These classes are followed by Basic 3-6 which add figure skating elements. Camps and clinics are offered primarily in the Spring and Summer and over holidays. Falcons clinics are geared toward intermediate to advanced players. Our Summer Cool camp provides a weekly day camp that includes hockey instruction for beginner to intermediate players. Stick & Puck sessions provide practice ice for players of all levels. Since 2011, the Pineville Falcons have been fielding youth travel teams.

Public Skating Schedule

Check our Public Skating Schedule for our regular weekday, weekend, and holiday sessions. Public Skating is ideal for birthday parties, group events, family outings, and date nights. Beginner skating skills for children ages 6 and up interested in hockey or figure skating.

Youth Hockey

The Pineville Ice House features an NHL sized rink, Pro Shop, Restaurant and Bar. We provide year round classes, leagues, programs and events for youth and adult skaters from beginner to advanced levels. Our rink hosts local, regional, and national hockey and figure skating events. The rink has served the Charlotte community since 1995. The Falcons Youth League is a recreational hockey league for youth players through age 16. Practices and League games are held at the Pineville Ice House.

Our Youth League runs year round as Fall, Spring and Summer seasons. The Pineville Youth Hockey League (PYHL) is a recreational hockey league for youth players through age 16. Admission includes hockey or figure skates, toddler through adult sizes. Public Skating is open to all ages and skill levels. Rental figure and hockey skates are available.

Our fire alarm system includes monitors to detect noxious gases, and an alarm will sound if harmful levels are detected. Other rink maintenance equipment, including our scissor lift, forklift and ice edger, are also electric. Our facility is equipped with a defibrillator and basic first aid supplies. We offer no guarantees regarding the quality or timeliness of medical care at our rink.

In the event of a medical emergency, our staff has been directed to call 911 for an ambulance from the nearest possible provider. The closest hospital is Carolinas Medical Center in Pineville, which is 1.5 miles from our rink. Unfortunately, public skating times are only during the week now and are shorter. The rental skates are really nice for a public rink!
